Contacting Your Doctor

ALL problems and issues are best dealt with during a consultation with your normal treating doctor.

If you have questions related to the management of your condition, an appointment is best made to discuss these questions so the appropriate attention can be devoted to resolving your questions.
If you are unsure, our reception and nursing staff are experienced in helping you decide if the matter requires an appointment.

For all non-urgent enquiries, our reception staff will obtain your contact details and send a message to your doctor to return your call.

Telephone Access

For all emergencies please call 000.

Doctors at Ascot Family Practice may be contacted during normal opening hours by telephone, however we try to keep interruptions to consultations to a minimum. If there is any matter that needs your doctor’s urgent attention,  your call will be transferred initially to the Practice Nurse who will triage and assist where possible. Sometimes, if the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and given to the doctor for further action. Your doctor will return your call at a more convenient time if you leave your name, telephone number and the nature of your problem. (Please note that the doctors work different hours each day so please check with staff as to when  your doctor is next working and likely to return your call.)

Electronic Access

Ascot Family Practice has a strict policy in regards to email confidential and sensitive patient information therefore we do not transfer patient information via email unless it is able to be encrypted. This applies for all electronic communication within Australia or overseas. Communication with patients via electronic means is conducted with appropriate regard to the Australian National Privacy Principles concerning patient health records.
